Child Rights Caucus for the 2001 UN General Assembly Special Session on Children

Set up around the time of the UN Special Session on Children, the Caucus has now merged with the NGO Group for the Convention of the Rights of the Child. The Child Rights Caucus is made up of a broad range of national and international nongovernmental organisations [NGOs] from around the world. Caucus members are committed to protecting and promoting the human rights of children as set out in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child [the CRC] and other international human rights instruments. The Caucus was established early last year to ensure that a strong voice for children's rights, implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and rights-based approaches was present in the preparations for the Special Session on Children.
