Multiple discrimination occurs when someone is discriminated against on more than one ground.
Everyone has multiple identities, for example, a child may be a boy with a disability who is also gay. Multiple – or 'intersectional' - discrimination describes discrimination that occurs as a result of how these different identities or circumstances interact.
